A Visit From St Nicholas
In the afternoon of 15th December 2017, the school were visited by non-other than St Nicholas!
St Nicholas visited from Konigswinter in Germany with the mayor and other local council members. St Nicholas talked to all of the children in assembly about Christmas traditions in Germany and presented the school with a number of delicious edible gifts, including a beautiful gingerbread house. The pupils from Year 3 and 4 presented St Nicholas with a card depicting St Nicholas on the front.
The visitors then toured the school and were delighted to find out that one class was making Christmas gingerbread houses, in the German tradition and another class were listening to Silent Night in German, Stille Nacht.
The children had some wonderful questions for St Nicholas, many which made him laugh and many involving food.
The school was very proud to welcome the visitors and look forward to future Christmas visits.
