You may be worried about your child at lunchtime, it’s a big change for some of the children especially if they haven’t had lunch at school/nursery before so here are some pictures of our hall, lunch ladies and serving hatch.
🌈 Please be aware that the hall is currently set up to follow social distancing protocol, this may or may not continue in September I will update you when I know more 🌈
Reception children go to lunch first so they have most of the hall to themselves, they can bring their own packed lunch or have a school dinner. All reception children are entitled to a free school meal. Dinners are ordered beforehand so that you can pick something your child likes, there are a range of things to pick each day including vegetarian options. You can also choose to be dinners some days and packed lunch others but dinners must be ordered beforehand.
The children then get to choose their own dessert on the day. There are a number of lunch ladies to help them chop their food, encourage them to eat and support them. Children are told to put their hand up and ask if they can go out to play before they clear their plate, this is for the lunch ladies to check they’ve eaten a substantial amount. They then go out on to the playground for play time.
Ordering lunch for September
If your child would like a school dinner from the start of September this will need ordering by July 3rd. You will need to get a school order form from the office . Alternatively, you can download the menus and order form here and either print it off and complete it and return it to the school or e mail the completed form with your child’s name clearly labelled.
There will be a table set up outside the school office so you can collect and complete a form to order a school dinner.
Please can these be completed by Friday July 3rd. If they are late we cannot guarantee a meal will be ordered.
All children in Reception, Years 1 and 2 in September are entitled to a free meal.
All children being back is an assumption we are making for ordering school meals, it is not a guarantee that they will all be back.
