Religion and belief for many people forms a crucial part of their culture and identity.  At Great Coates we believe that RE is an important subject, developing knowledge and understanding of the religions and beliefs which form part of our contemporary society.

Religious Education in our school is taught using the Standard Advisory Council for Religious Education (SACRE) guidance.  Christianity and other principal religions such as Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism and Sikhism are taught through all of the Key Stages. Through our teaching, children will develop knowledge and understanding about the lives of individuals and communities, promoting mutual respect and tolerance in a diverse society.
